What we remove · Complaint and review sites

Remove a complaint or review listing from Google

Complaint sites are built to rank for a name and built not to take anything down. The route through them is their own rules, and occasionally the law.

What this covers

The links in this category.

Ripoff Report, Trustpilot, Glassdoor, Yelp and similar listings, including the aggregator pages that republish them.

Why it can be removed

The argument that works.

Most of these listings breach the platform's own terms: a review from someone who was never a customer, a former employee identifying a colleague, a competitor posting under a false name, or a complaint about a business that no longer exists. Where the platform will not act and the content is demonstrably false, independent counsel issues formal notice.

What we will not take money for

We do not remove a genuine review of a real experience. If a customer was badly treated and said so accurately, no route exists and none should.

Typical route

In this order, until the link goes.

The assessment confirms the sequence for your link and names it in the engagement letter. The removal window for this category starts at 42 days.

  • 1. Platform policy

Forum, review and social platforms each have rules on harassment, doxxing, impersonation and outdated content. We frame the request in the platform's own language and escalate past first-line moderation.

  • 2. Legal notice

Where content is defamatory, infringes privacy, or breaches copyright, independent counsel issues formal notice to the publisher, host or Google.

  • 3. De-indexing and cache removal

Once the source is down or altered, we secure removal of the Google index entry, cached copies and image results, then verify across regions.

Typical timeline: Two to five weeks.

By platform

The specific ones we are asked about most.

  • Remove a Glassdoor review from Google

Glassdoor defends its reviews hard and publishes the grounds on which it will take one down. Those grounds are narrower than most people think and wider than most firms bother to use.

  • Remove a Ripoff Report listing from Google

Ripoff Report states that it never removes a report. That is true of the report; it is not true of the Google result, and the distinction is the whole job.

  • Remove a Trustpilot review from Google

Trustpilot removes more reviews than any comparable platform, because it polices its own guidelines and requires reviewers to evidence a genuine experience.
