How the fee works
Paid at the start, held against the outcome.
The fee is paid when you submit the link and accept the engagement letter, and is held in a client account until the matter closes. If the link is verified as removed, the fee is released to us. If it is not removed by the end of the agreed window, the full amount is returned to you within five working days. There is no partial-success fee.
Why not “pay on removal”?
Several firms advertise pay-only-on-success, then quote a price that already includes the links they expect to lose. A fixed, published fee with a written refund is the same protection without the hidden margin, and it means we have no reason to accept a link we cannot remove.
What we will not take money for
- Results we assess as unlikely to be removed. We say so up front rather than take the fee.
- Content that is accurate, current and in the public interest, where no lawful removal route exists.
- Suppression or 'burying' campaigns sold as removal.
- Any work that requires misleading a publisher, platform or court.
Multiple links
Each URL is assessed and engaged separately, so you can proceed with the links that matter most and leave others for later. Where two URLs are copies of the same article on the same domain we treat them as one.
Comparison
How this differs from the usual model.
The refund clause, as it appears in the engagement letter
“If, at the end of the Removal Window, the Specified URL continues to appear in Google search results for the Agreed Search Terms as verified under clause 4, No Trace shall refund the Fee in full within five Working Days. No deduction shall be made for work performed.”
Clause 6.1, standard engagement letter. A copy is provided with every assessment.
Questions
About the fee and the refund.
Can you really remove a link from Google, or just push it down?
Remove. Our fee is only earned when the URL no longer appears in Google search results for your name or business. Suppression — burying a result under new content — is a different service and we do not sell it as removal.
What kinds of links can be removed?
News articles, blog posts, forum threads, complaint-site listings, review pages, personal-data pages, images and cached copies. Every link is assessed individually before we accept it, and we decline links we do not believe can be removed.
What happens after I pay?
The fee is held in a client account and you receive a case number immediately. Within 48 hours you get a written assessment: removable, by which route, and the removal window. If we assess the link as unremovable, the full fee is returned within 24 hours.
Can I ask before paying?
Yes. If you would rather not commit first, use the free assessment form. It takes the same 48 hours; you simply pay afterwards instead of before.
What does $6,000 cover?
Everything required to remove one URL: legal review, publisher and platform negotiation, formal notices, Google removal requests, de-indexing and verification. There are no hourly charges and no additional disbursements.
What happens if the link is not removed?
You receive a full refund of the fee for that link. The refund is written into the engagement letter, not offered as a courtesy.
How long does removal take?
Most removals complete in two to eight weeks. Links that depend on a publisher or court process can take longer, and we tell you the likely timeline before you commit.
Is the process confidential?
Yes. We do not publish client names, case studies or testimonials that could identify you, and every engagement is covered by a confidentiality undertaking.
Do you handle UK right-to-be-forgotten requests?
Yes. For UK and EU residents we use the UK GDPR and GDPR delisting provisions alongside publisher and platform routes. For US clients we rely on platform policy, defamation and privacy law, and publisher negotiation.

Not ready? Ask first.
Most clients submit the link and pay in one sitting; assessment follows within 48 hours and the fee is refunded if the link cannot be removed. If you would rather ask first, the assessment is free and takes the same 48 hours.
