Remove a Reddit post from Google
A Reddit thread naming you can outrank everything else you have ever done. It is also one of the few places where the removal mechanism is written down and works.

The route that works
How this one actually comes down.
Reddit's own content policy prohibits sharing personal and confidential information, and its moderators enforce it faster than its admins do. Most requests succeed at subreddit level, citing the rule the post breaks rather than threatening anyone. Where a moderator will not act, the request escalates to Reddit's legal and safety teams. Because a removed Reddit post can stay in Google's index for weeks, the de-indexing request is always the second half of the work.
What we will not take money for
A thread criticising a business, without personal information and without a false statement of fact, is not going anywhere. We will say so within 48 hours rather than take the fee.
The terms for this link
One published fee, whatever the platform. The removal window for forum and social threads starts at 28 days and is fixed in the engagement letter at signing, so a later change to our defaults cannot alter your case.
- i.Assessed in writing within 48 working hours, saying whether it can go and by which route.
- ii.Removed means the URL no longer appears in Google for the agreed search terms, checked from the UK, the US and one EU location on two days at least seven days apart.
- iii.If it is still there when the window closes, the fee is refunded in full within five working days. No deduction for work performed.
- iv.Monitored monthly for twelve months. If it returns at the same URL, we act again at no charge.
Questions
About this one specifically.
Will deleting my own comment remove it from Google?
Not on its own, and not reliably. A deleted comment is still served by Reddit mirrors, and the Google result can persist for weeks after the source is gone. The de-indexing and cache request is what actually clears the search result.
Can the poster tell that it was reported?
Moderators see a report. They do not see who instructed us, and we never identify a client to a platform without written authority to do so.
