Remove images and cached pages from Google

The page came down and the result stayed. This is the category that finishes the job, and the one most often left half-done by someone else.

What this covers

The links in this category.

Google Images results, cached copies, AMP versions, and the mirrors and syndication copies that survive a successful takedown of the original.

Why it can be removed

The argument that works.

Once the source is gone or altered, the index entry is a technical problem rather than a legal one: a removal request for outdated content, a refresh request for the cache, and an image-specific request for the thumbnail. If we removed the original, these are ours to clear within the same fee. Where the picture is yours — one you took, or paid a photographer to take — there is a legal route as well, because a copyright notice reaches the host and the image result directly, and it is usually answered in days rather than weeks.

What we will not take money for

If the underlying page is still live and unchanged, de-indexing the copy achieves nothing, and we would rather address the source first or tell you there is no route. The exception is your own copyright: a notice about a photograph you own reaches the page itself, not just the copy of it.

Typical route

In this order, until the link goes.

The assessment confirms the sequence for your link and names it in the engagement letter. The removal window for this category starts at 21 days.

  • 1. De-indexing and cache removal

Once the source is down or altered, we secure removal of the Google index entry, cached copies and image results, then verify across regions.

  • 2. DMCA takedown

Where the material is yours — your photograph, your writing — a copyright notice to the host, the platform or the search engine. Often the fastest route of all, and the one most sites answer within days.

Typical timeline: One to three weeks.
